Workshop Description: The enchanted gardens at Linwood will serve as peaceful inspiration while we explore “Wisdom Keepers.” We will begin the day with a drum circle to tap into our creative spirit and sense of play before collage making. Through instruction we will make a collage on canvas with paper and paint. This day promises to be relaxing, non-judgmental, and fun; awakening the artist within. Each person will take home a “Wisdom Keeper” canvas 12x12 to display on his or her wall.
Supplies included: Stretched canvas, some paper collage, glue and some paint.
Be sure to bring your drum or instrument, bag lunch and additional art materials.
No experience necessary. Class limit: 10 students. A Minimal 5 participants necessary. Rain or shine.

Workshop Description: How might your soul connect with the gifts of nature to enrich your life and inspire your art making? In this two-day drawing workshop held in a nurturing environment amid the beauty and serenity of Linwood Gardens, you will explore a personal relationship with the spirit of nature and discover ways to express that in your artwork. Guided drawing exercises, relaxation and contemplative practices will invite you to let go, and experiment with the creative process.

Workshop Description: This workshop will focus on mixed media drawing and painting inspired by the unique line, shape, texture and color that is Linwood Gardens. You will acquire strategies for abstract work and will create several completed pieces of art.
In the morning you will explore the gardens through various guided drawing and painting activities and in the afternoon you will create a series of studies, developing the images in a variety of suggested ways. These can be your final product or, if taking the workshop for a second and/or third day, you will develop ideas further through various media and in conjunction with direct work outdoors. No previous art experience necessary other than a willingness to try. Expect individual guidance and an exchange of ideas among participants.

needed: You may work in any materials you prefer but are asked to bring 2 or more additional media. A list of necessary and recommended items will be supplied at time of registration but is available from the instructor at any time.

Workshop Description: Let the rich colors of autumn inspire you. In this weekend workshop you will focus on capturing the essence of the landscape through direct painting outdoors. You will learn how to select a subject, develop a composition, and apply a basic oil technique to complete a painting in a short amount of time.
Saturday morning will begin with a painting demonstration, which will cover paint application, color mixing, and a discussion of atmospheric perspective.
You can expect plenty of painting time, individual guidance and a group critique to support your learning. This is a great plein air painting introduction or refresher. Some experience with oils is helpful.
