FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Do you sell tree peonies?

Linwood Gardens is not a commercial nursery. However, there are usually a very limited number of plants for sale each year, ranging from about $150-$225. Please request to be added to the email list to receive a digital catalog in the summer. Plants are offered through a lottery system and are picked up in September. We do not ship.

Please see the American Peony Society’s peony vendor page for recommended sellers for more variety, availability, and shipping options.

Do you host weddings at Linwood Gardens?

No, we do not currently host weddings, showers, or other private parties.

However, our neighbor The Hillcrest Estate offers beautiful accommodations for a variety of private events, including weddings.

Photoshoot requests and other individual visit requests can be accommodated during scheduled public open dates, such as the Tree Peony Festival or Open Garden Days.

Can I bring my pet to Linwood Gardens?

Sorry, we cannot accommodate pets as Linwood Gardens is a private residence. Since our parking lot is sunny and hot, for the health and safety of your pet, please leave them at home. Of course, registered service animals are always welcome.

Is Linwood Gardens accessible?

We offer reserved accessible parking spaces by request, or guests can be dropped off/picked up at the circular drive in front of the Summer House. During the Tree Peony Festival, accessible portable restroom facilities are available.

The gardens comprise about 8 acres and garden spaces are connected by lawns and a couple gravel roads. One garden has raised curbs and narrow, uneven brick paths and may not be accessible. For our guests who use walkers or wheelchairs, the terrace overlooking the Genesee Valley is a lovely place to relax. When tree peonies along the driveway are in bloom, they can also be viewed from the car when exiting the property.

Are there picnic facilities during the Tree Peony Festival?

In consideration of our caterer, Sweet Arts Bakery, and because Linwood Gardens is a private garden, we ask that picnics be limited. Thank you for understanding. During Open Garden Days and special group tours, we do not provide food service and you are welcome to bring lunch.

Do you accept volunteers?

Yes! Contact us with your email address and availability, letting us know if you have a special skill. The default task is weeding, but we have a variety of projects available. We work throughout the season, especially spring.
